Join Us for the… 18th Annual New York State 4-H Shooting Sports Banquet & Auction!

Please join us at the 18th Annual New York State 4-H Shooting Sports Banquet & Auction to be held on April 22, 2017 in historic Towers Hall overlooking beautiful Lake George, NY on the grounds of the Fort William Henry Hotel & Conference Center. Doors open at 4:00 PM for bountiful complimentary hors d’oeuvres with cash bar available. A grand buffet dinner featuring beef, chicken and pasta selections will be served at 7:00 PM prior to the Live Auction.

This year’s event will feature noted Wildlife Artist Wayne Trimm as our 2017 Artist of the Year with four of Wayne’s exceptional pieces of artwork up for grabs to the highest bidder including this original pastel of Bramble, the Great Horned Owl.

As always, there will be hundreds of incredible items available throughout the event with something for everyone including many items from past Artists of the Year too. Auction services will once again be provided courtesy of Talk of the Town Auction Hall, John & Beverly Stanislowsky with Dusty Cleveland serving as Auctioneer.

The cost of this event is $75.00 per couple or $40.00 for a single dinner ticket. Specially priced overnight packages are also still available only through NYS4-HSS. Seating for this event is limited and has sold out many times in the past – please be sure to get your reservations in as early as possible. Reservations are due by April 13, 2017. 2017 SHOT Show

The 2017 SHOT Show, sponsored by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, opens January 17th and will run through Friday January 20th at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. New York State 4-H Shooting Sports representatives to this year’s Show include NYS4-HSS Director Bill Schwerd, NYS4-HSS Assistant Director John Bowe and NYS4-HSS Education Specialist Kenyon Simpson.

NYS4-HSS Artist, Molly Pokrzywka, Takes Top Fair Honors!

2016 New York State 4-H Shooting Sports Artist of the Year, Molly Pokrzywka, captured top honors in the Fine Arts Division at the Saratoga County Fair held July 19-24 in Ballston Spa, NY. Molly won Best of Show and First Place for these two exceptional oil on canvas paintings shown below.

Congratulations Molly!

Molly is presently serving as a Summer Intern at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Saratoga County under the direction of Capital Mohawk PRISM Coordinator, Laurel Gailor. Molly has been working on several web design and graphic arts projects including this Regional Invasive Species Management program poster, below, that was part of an educational display inside the Forest Ranger Cabin at the Saratoga County Fairgrounds throughout Fair week.

Friday Event Update!

The countdown is on to the 17th Annual New York State 4-H Shooting Sports Banquet & Auction Event at Towers Hall, Fort William Henry Hotel & Conference Center in beautiful Lake George, NY.

Please note – there is some road construction and paving being done on Route 9, the main road, heading through Lake George to the Hotel but you can still access the Fort William Henry property at either of their main entrances.

Our wonderful Volunteers and Staff are busy working hard in Towers Hall setting up the hundreds of items in this year’s event. There is truly something for everyone!
